THE INDIGENOUS ETHNIC TRIBES OF
DAVAO

backgrounds. This is so because the community of the indigenous etnic tribes
resulted from different migrations in history and the migrant Muslim
communities of the Maguinadanaons, Kalagans, Tausugs, Samals, and Maranaos came
from the different provinces of Mindanao and Sulu. This is also trur tto
Christian Filipinos who came from Luzon and the Visayas as well as the
foreigners from other lands. This situation created a highly heterogeneous
population in the city.
